Directions to Wilburforce in Seattle

By bike from downtown Seattle

From downtown there is a bike lane along Dexter Avenue North that leads directly into Fremont Avenue. In addition, all Metro buses have bike racks, and there is no charge for carrying your bike on a bus. Note that you must be out of the Free Ride area downtown before you can put your bike on a bus. There is a bike rack in front of our building, or feel free to bring your bike up to our offices.

By bus from downtown Seattle

Take the #5, #26 or #28 bus from 3rd Avenue downtown.  Current bus fares are $1.75 during morning and evening rush hours, and $1.50 during the rest of the day. The requires exact change only.

The #5 bus will take Route 99/Aurora Avenue North towards Fremont from downtown. The closest stop for our office is on North 38th Street  and Bridge Way, just east of Aurora of Fremont Avenue North. Once off the bus head west under Aurora avenue, then veer right along Fremont Way North. At N 38th Street turn left and go downhill to Fremont Avenue. Turn left and walk two blocks to the Fremont Village Square Building at Fremont Avenue North and North 36th Street.

If riding the #26 or #28 bus, get off just after crossing the Fremont Bridge near 35th Street and Fremont Ave North, and walk one block north (uphill) to the Fremont Village Square Building at 36th Street and Fremont. For bus times and stop locations, visit the King County Metro Bus web site.

By bus from SeaTac Airport

Take the #174 bus from Baggage Claim Bay-2 to downtown. The best place to get off is 4th Avenue and Union. Visit this Metro Bus page for more information. Once in downtown, follow the directions above.

By car from downtown Seattle

(allow 15-25 minutes for travel from downtown)

  1. Find 6th Avenue. Avenues run north-south and start with 1st Avenue near the water and increase in numbers going eastward.
  2. Take 6th Avenue north, and stay in the right lane. At Battery Street make a diagonal right turn and head onto Aurora Avenue (Highway 99). Follow Aurora Avenue 2.2 miles and cross the Aurora Bridge, which is a long, high bridge spanning the ship canal below.
  3. At the end of the bridge, turn right immediately onto an unmarked exit then get in the left lane in order to turn left ahead.
  4. At the traffic light at N 38th Street, Turn left and follow the street down about 3 blocks to  the next traffic light. Take a sharp left on to Fremont Way North.
  5. Go 2 blocks to 36th Street and turn right. Proceed up the hill, under the Aurora Bridge (taking time to notice the Troll on your right), and down to Fremont Avenue. We are located in the Fremont Village Square building just across the street on the right.
  6. Continue across Fremont Avenue and turn right into the parking lot behind our building (see parking information below).

By car from north of Seattle

  1. From I-5, take the 50th Street exit, and turn right onto 50th Street.
  2. Follow 50th Street until you reach the intersection of Stoneway and 50th. At this point be in the left lane and take a soft left at the intersection.
  3. Once through the intersection stay in the right lane as you pass under Aurora Avenue. You are now on 46th Street.
  4. At the first traffic light after the underpass you are at Fremont Avenue and 46th Street. Turn left onto Fremont Avenue.
  5. Follow Fremont Avenue south to 36th Street. We are in the Fremont Village Square building on the right-hand corner of 36th and Fremont Avenue.
  6. Turn right onto N 36th and right again into the parking lot behind our building (see parking information below).

By car from south of Seattle

  1. From I-5, take Exit 164B (4th Avenue South).
  2. At the traffic light turn right onto 4th Ave South, then right again onto Royal Brougham.
  3. Go about 3 blocks and turn right onto 1st Avenue. Stay in the right-hand lane, and go about 3 more blocks to the on-ramp for Highway 99.
  4. Go north on 99 for 4.0 miles until you cross the Aurora Bridge, which is a long, high bridge spanning the ship canal below.
  5. Follow steps 3 - 6 under "By car from downtown Seattle" above (see parking information below).

By car from SeaTac Airport

(Allow 40-50 minutes for travel from SeaTac Airport. SeaTac is south of the city.)

  1. Follow exits from the Airport to I-5.
  2. Drive on I-5 North about 13 miles to downtown Seattle.
  3. Take Exit 167 left toward Seattle Center.
  4. At the light, turn right at Fairview Avenue North.
  5. At the next light turn left onto Valley Street.
  6. At the next light turn right onto Westlake Avenue North. continue 1.6 miles to Fremont Avenue North.
  7. Turn right and go across the Fremont Bridge.
  8. Once over the bridge, go 3 blocks north to 36th Street.
  9.  We are in the Fremont Village Square building on the right-hand corner of 36th and Fremont Avenue. Turn left on N 36th Street and right into the parking lot behind our building (see parking information below).

Parking
Park in the lot behind (to the west of) our building in any numbered space. Note the space number, but do not pay the fee. Tell us the number when you come in, and we will cover the parking fee.
